We are surrounded by living and non-living things. Sometimes it is not so easy to decide. Plants are living things but they do not play or fly.
Some non-living things show one or two of the seven characteristics of living things. Machines can move but need a source of energy in order to move.
This app develops the Living and Non-Living themes by presenting several characteristics that define living things such as, feeding, movement, respiration, excretion, growth, sensitivity and reproduction. It contains beautiful illustrations that are selected to encourage discussion and develop oral language. The text and illustrations are presented with simplicity and elegance.
At the end of the reading, the children can practice what they have learned by taking a quiz and checking their answers.
